Cut the empty calories from your daily sodas and juices and try a homemade flavored water. This one is proven to give a little boost to dropping those unwanted pounds.

Lemon, Lime & Cucumber Water

2 quarts filtered water

1 lemon

1 cucumber

1 Tbsp Ginger, grated

10-15 leaves, fresh Mint

Cut the lemon, lime and cucumber into thin slices – leave the peels on. Grate the ginger. Combine all ingredients in pitcher with water; place in fridge and let steep for a few hours. Drink 2-3 glasses a day until gone.

Wondering why this drink helps with weight loss? Well, the first reason is hydration. Making sure you drink enough water every day will help you lose weight all by itself. Then add things like the ginger, which helps calm the GI tract, and you’re providing a chance for your body to detox.  The additional ingredients also contribute:

Mint - Mint leaves can help you lose weight because it stimulates the digestion of fat. Mint helps in eliminating toxins from the body and also helps with tummy aches.

Lemon – they are full of Vitamin C and lemon juice is a digestive aid and liver cleanser.

Cucumber – Did you know that cucumber actually has 95% water content that is actually more nutritious than plain water?! It will help keep you hydrated and also helps in flushing out the toxins from the body.

Lime – The citric acid  in lime is an excellent fat burner and is full of antioxidants.
