Berry-Smoothie-Post

We’re quickly heading into summer. Temperatures are heating up and that means our kitchens are too! Turn off your oven and move over microwave – smoothies are here and they’re packing a nutritious punch along with some cool refreshment. All you need is your favorite fruits and vegetables, a couple of fruits and vegetables you already have on hand, and a blender.

The Food Guide Pyramid recommends that an individual consume between 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit daily. It’s easy to drink your fruits and vegetables for the day and smoothies are just the trick. Try this berry and cream delight and know that you’re taking  a step towards healthy eating habits.

Berries and Cream Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

Strawberries
Raspberries
Blueberries
Greek yogurt
Almond milk

DIRECTIONS

Place a handful of your berries, a splash of almond milk and a scoop of yogurt into your blender. Pulse the mixture until combined, then add more almond milk and yogurt to achieve desired taste and consistency.
